New Los Angeles Times editorial commission that ran in yesterdays Sunday paper. This article and illustration are about the end of the age of American Triumphalism and the beginning of the age of salvaging what's left. Pen & ink / collage.

Right now . . . my portfolio is en route and on it's way back to the studio from our beautiful West Coast and city of San Francisco! I want to thank the kind folks at Chronicle Books for gathering around, and reviewing my illustration and design work. A special thank you, to Sandy - for setting it all up and arranging everything. Stay tuned for updates!

UPDATE and CURRENT PROJECTS

I was helping my daughter study and do her homework last night while my 7 year old son was sprawled out on the floor in his footsie PJ's drawing. He proceeded to bring me each one upon completion. I was humored, amazed and overjoyed with these, and wanted to share a few of them with you! I hope they bring you joy!

I am currently working on a new L.A. Times piece, and an illustration and invitation for my friend Al who runs Porter's Call (he provides counseling services to recording artists and their families.) I'm also working on an illustration of a Celtic triquetra for an upcoming book and received an e-mail this week from Target, thanking me for sending my illustration samples and that they would be in touch regarding any upcoming projects that may be an appropriate fit. Stay tuned for more updates!

Last week, I got a letter in the mail from one of my best friends back home in Minneapolis. In addition to catching me up on his life and family, he enclosed some recent photos and this card. My very first business card from my very first design job out of college!  He was cleaning out his wallet . . . I must have given him one years ago. How time flies!!

I am working on a few new illustration jobs that have come in the door this week. I will be posting information on them soon.
