Had another meeting with Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) before Thanksgiving to present the above, reworked pose of a more sexy jazz figure . . . the title of the album is now called "At Last." The box illustration was another idea that was originally pitched when the title was going to be "Renaissance." I wanted to portray the rebirth concept in a way that was perhaps not so typical. Collage and montage.
The new Dec/Jan issue of PASTE is now on newsstands . . . it features the collage illustration I created for an article entitled "The Littlest DJ"
I've had the privilege of working on the artwork for the new Greencard's upcoming release entitled "fascination." Got the thumbs up yesterday for a final cover. Wa - lah! This was very fun and features hand created type and doodles that will continue throughout the rest of the package.
Final collage commission for the Los Angeles Times. This art ran in yesterdays 12-07-08 Op-Ed section. The above color illustration is the raw version before I digitally tweaked it for submission. We decided to simplify my sketch in the lower right corner and have the focal point be primarily W's boots in the foreground amidst the desolate wild lands . . . driving home the point of how we are selling the soul of the country by opening these areas to oil and gas exploration.
Got a new assignment / commission from the Los Angeles Times today! This one will be fun!
My work is featured on Communication Arts online home-page this entire week December 1st through 5th along with a short question and answer interview . . . and then it's off to their archives for retrieval. Check it out!
Got an e-mail today from Neiman Marcus who commissioned me to create three collage illustrations for one of their upcoming April Spring catalogs. Stay tuned for the final pieces!
