An Evening of Stories

Recently, I was commissioned by Porter's Call to create the artwork for this year's Evening of Stories event. The idea was to convey mystery, wonder, moon, stars and of course, evening. This is the 2nd annual Evening of Stories and features Ian Morgan Cron a writer, Amy Grant a singer, and Becca Stevens a priest. This is sure to be another tremendous night and benefits one of the best organizations supporting the music industry today, Porter's Call. It will take place in the beautiful Country Music Hall of Fame's Ford Theater. Buy your tickets by clicking the Porter's Call link above as it is sure to sell out. I created the art for last years event as well (and it is now hanging in Donald Miller's house above his fireplace :) You can see that post by clicking here.

The African Children's Choir

Recently, I ran into some old friends and former co-worker's at the Evening of Stories event here in Nashville. They contacted me a short time afterwards regarding a benefit they were planning to host for the African Children's Choir. They asked if I might be willing to create the invitation card for them in exchange for 2 tickets to the event hosted by Big Kenny of (Big and Rich) and his wife Christiev. I accepted the task at hand and suggested that the sketch I create for the front of the card be turned into collage art and go up for auction that evening with proceeds going towards the choir. Here is the finished artwork. It is the largest piece I have ever created standing 4 feet high by 2 feet wide. The event raised more than $25,000!
